About Us
Our Nursery
Little Cambridge Nursery is adjacent to ‘The Cambridge School.’ It has been carefully planned and equipped to a high standard with well-proportioned rooms with plenty of ventilation and sunlight.
We have put together an experienced team who offer a homely, exciting nursery experience to all children. Here, we will offer a personalised programme of care and education. We believe in delivering an approach that celebrates diversity positively, is inclusive and supportive. For us, education is through play, we work to ensure that each child feels safe, happy, and valued. Our main priority is that the children enjoy their learning. We feel that at this age their readiness to learn comes naturally through playing, enjoying their day and spending time with their friends and teachers.
Our aim for each child is to develop:

The ability to be self-motivated
The confidence to persevere
The ability to approach life with flexibility and creativity
To respect themselves and others
To grow into responsible members of their community.

Our Curriculum
We offer a fully planned curriculum based on the British Early Years Foundation Stage alongside our Little Cambridge philosophy of life skills which underpins all that we do.
We do this through themes and topics which are designed to engage with each child at their level. We include all areas of development; areas of personal, social, and emotional, communication and language and physical development and the specific areas of mathematics, expressive arts and design, understanding the world and literacy.
To complement each child’s natural learning and development, our goal is to develop each child’s ‘life skills’ including confidence, self-expression, patience, self-esteem, and self-help skills.
We prepare each child individually for their next steps. We work in partnership with our Primary Schools to ensure a smooth transition for all. We maintain a strong cultural policy which engages our children in festivals and celebrations from their local environment, their country and culture and the world at large.
We will achieve this through books, music, role modelling, dressing up and displays. Through the teacher’s attitude children will understand and have a sense of, and a positive attitude towards the benefits of a multi-cultural and multi-faith society.
